Specifically, attendees will leave with:

Increased confidence in their ability to execute
     Creative thinking strategies
     Enhanced leadership skills
Concrete steps to further their entrepreneurial ideas

The Dare to Dream Retreat is a partnership the Veale Foundation, the John Carroll University Entrepreneurship Minor and the Edward M. Muldoon Center for Entrepreneurship at John Carroll University.

Retreat Guides

Katie O'Connell

Founder, JesNET

Katie is a senior at John Caroll University and took her first entrepreneurship course in the fall of her junior year. In high school, the word “entrepreneurship” was not even in her vocabulary and it is a shame it was not. The Muldoon Center for Entrepreneurship has helped ignite a fire in Katie, provided her with mentorship that has shaped her college experience, the tools to grow her ideas, and the courage to engineer her future. The Muldoon Center gave her the platform to share and develop her first big idea, JesNET, a network and series of experiences curated for students and alumni of the 28 Jesuit Colleges and Universities in the United States. She hopes to share her energy and ideas with the girls of the Veale Youth Entrepreneurship Forum at this exciting stage in their personal growth.

Julia Ruggiero

Founder, Campus Oils

Julia, originally from Pittsburgh, PA, is a rising senior at John Carroll University, studying Integrated Marketing and Communications with a minor in Leadership Development. Julia started her own brand, Campus Oils, which teaches people around the world how essential oils can benefit health and wellness. Julia started working with essential oils as a teenager and through her venture, found her passion for entrepreneurship. Julia also uses her media platforms to spread the word about mental health awareness. She started the #vulnerABLEmovement to give people who struggle with mental illness a platform to share their story. She loves speaking with students about the possibilities of entrepreneurship, the power of social media, as well as various health and wellness topics.

Leah Berdysz

Founder, Empowered & Poised, LLC

Leah is on a “mission to empower and educate girls on how to be beautiful from the inside out through discovery of social, mental, and physical components”. In May of 2017 Leah graduated summa cum laude from John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science and Entrepreneurship, and founded Empowered & Poised LLC. She is extremely passionate about wellness, entrepreneurship, and helping others to become their strongest, healthiest, and happiest selves. Leah has taught physical education at the Hebrew Academy of Cleveland for four years, and has over 10 years’ experience working to empower youth. Leah is currently the Community Outreach Coordinator for LaunchHouse, a Cleveland coworking community.

Laura MacMinn

Head of Client Communications , Flourishing Leadership Institute

Laura is the Head of Client Communications & Events at the Flourishing Leadership Institute (FLI)- the global leader in leading high-purpose, future-focused organizations, such as the Navy, US Army, United Nations, Google, Apple, VISA, Facebook, and BMW, through rapid, positive culture change.
